Internet marketing, also referred to as online marketing, Internet advertising, or eMarketing, is the marketing of products or services over the Internet.
So, how does it work and what do you need to begin?
For starting an online money making business, there are a few different things you must consider before you start.
- How much capital do I have
- What do I want to promote
- How much time can I commit
- What do I need to learn first
- What resources do I require
These are all important factors to consider and will determine the pathway you use for your internet marketing business.
Firstly, it must be stated that it does not require a lot of money to begin internet marketing, but the less cash you have the more effort you require to be successful.

There are a variety of different methods of online marketing currently being practiced. These include:
Affiliate Marketing
Where you send people to another persons product for a percentage of the sale price. This method is low cost and does not neccesarily require you to have your own website. The actual product seller provides everything to the buyer including any support.
Resell Marketing
This is where you buy an item that has resell rights attached to it and then sell it from your own website. The best part of doing this method is that you get to keep all the profits, and depending on the type of resale rights the product has, you can sell the product for personal use only for a lesser price, or with resale rights attached at the full price. This method works best with your own website and hosting as you are responsible in delivering the products to the buyer.
Product Marketing
With the product marketing method, you create your own unique product and market it with what-ever rights you like. This means you can sell the product for any amount, create your own back-end offers within the product, and decide whether you want to sell the product with resale rights or for personal use only.
Membership Marketing
A lot more advanced and sometimes a lot more work than other methods listed, membership marketing can also be one of the most lurative ventures. Once you have enough products/information to create a membership site, you can get a recurring income from it as long as you have members. In the long run, this can be a lot of money on a regular basis.
Service Marketing
Are you good at something online? Or perhaps know someone who is that works cheaply? Then service marketing may be for you. You can either set it up to sell your own services to do the things that most people online find tedious or difficult, or be a third party provider using cheaper services than what you charge for doing these things.
These are the most common methods of online marketing used at this time, but as things are constanly evolving more methods are becoming widespread.
